Visitors to IGPP often request Internet access during their stay.  If you have a short-term visitor who wishes to make use of wireless, you can request guest accounts by calling ACT Help Desk during weekdays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m at (858) 534-1853. Please plan ahead for weekends and holidays as ACT Help Desk and IGPP Help Desk are closed during those time

Your visitor may need to know the kind of service (UCSD now provides WiFI standard 802.11b service), the network name (UCSD) and that they should set their system configuration to utilize DHCP. Please remind them that transmission over UCSD's wireless system is not encrypted and therefore there is no security in their connection.
