Info session for potential students 12 noon Friday, Nov. 1
IGPP hosts a vibrant graduate student community who study Earth and other planets to advance our fundamental understanding their origin, composition, and evolution, and explore the implications for life, for the environment, and for society. Our MS and PhD programs are administered by the Department of the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, our home department at the University of California, San Diego. You can find comprehensive information here about the Geophysics (GP) curricular group and other Scripps programs along with instructions on how to apply.
IGPP is acknowledged globally for its broad range of geophysical research expertise with numerous distinct specializations. Read through our most recent Annual Report (see links below for more) to learn about the diverse interests of IGPP researchers and potential advisors.
IGPP has extensive computing resources, with an excellent network support infrastructure. The main network is run on Mac OSX, with support for SGI and IBM, and we have on-site technicians to help with all aspects of computing.
